The cottage is perfect for a girls weekend, writer’s retreat, or romantic get-a-way. Decorated with comfort in mind the cottage offers plenty of space indoors and out to unwind and relax.
Smithville Cottage is self-catering; guests need only bring food. The beautifully appointed gourmet kitchen is a chef's dream and the heart of the cottage. Niceties include dual fuel range, convection oven, double drawer dishwasher, large island and wine fridge. The kitchen is stocked with cookware, dishes, small appliances and some pantry items including coffee and tea.
Smithville, Texas is centrally located between Austin, Houston, San Antonio and Bryan-College Station. Main Street of this charming railroad town is within walking distance and offers numerous opportunities to enjoy the works of local artists, antiquing and dining. Old homes and businesses line the streets and 206 properties are listed in the National Historic Register. Smithville's old fashioned appeal has not been lost on Hollywood. Films such as Hope Floats, Tree of Life, Bernie and Shady Texas have had part or all of their scenes shot here.
